The Bunda Cliffs Lookout No. 1 overnight stay camping area is located app. 75km east of Border Village on the southern side of the Eyre Highway. The Bunda Cliffs are a large section on the western end of the bight in South Australia, and close to the Western Australia border. This overnight rest area and day use provides great views of the Bunda Cliffs, Whale watching opportunities, photo opportunities but has no facilities meaning you will need to be fully self-sufficient. This site is best suited to fully equipped campervans, caravans, camper trailers or motorhomes. Pets are OK, and there are walks nearby. There is no shade at this site and there are no charges to stay overnight. This site has a level dirt parking spot and a walkway to a lookout that offers the opportunity of taking some spectacular photos of Bunda Cliffs. Just a note of caution, it can be very windy at the Bunda Cliffs Lookout Number 1 Camping area. If you prefer, further back to the east of Bunda Cliffs is the Nullarbor Roadhouse that has a pub, hotel, campground and petrol station. It is 50 km to the west is the Western Australia border with a petrol station and road house. This site is exposed and can be very windy so make sure you are able to tie down your vehicle.
